Siemens Spartanburg’s dual apprenticeship programs—Maintenance (Tool & Die) and Switchboard (Wiring)—are key initiatives in the company’s strategy for developing highly skilled talent for specialized roles in manufacturing and operations. These apprenticeships are essential in building the technical expertise necessary to maintain and support the sophisticated systems Siemens is known for

Maintenance – Tool & Die Apprenticeship:

  • Current Status: This program currently has two employees enrolled.
  • Projected Completion: The apprentices in this program are expected to complete their training by May 2025.
  • Focus: The Maintenance apprenticeship focuses on tool and die work, which is crucial for maintaining the precision equipment and machinery used in Siemens’ manufacturing processes. Tool and die specialists are responsible for ensuring that the company's production lines and machinery are functioning optimally, which is key to maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing downtime.

Switchboard – Wiring Apprenticeship:

  • Current Status: This program also has two employees enrolled.
  • Projected Completion: These apprentices are expected to complete their training by the Fall of 2025.
  • Focus: The Switchboard apprenticeship trains employees in wiring and assembling electrical distribution systems, such as switchboards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to work with complex wiring systems that control power distribution across industrial and commercial facilities. The training will ensure the apprentices are well-versed in safety, wiring techniques, and electrical troubleshooting, all of which are critical for Siemens’ operations.

We are proud to announce that 3 of apprentices have completed their SCC requirements and received their associates degree in Mechatronics.

One of Siemens Spartanburg's' standout initiatives is its apprenticeship program, which offers a compelling opportunity for individuals to build both technical skills and leadership qualities. By combining paid, on-the-job training with formal education at Spartanburg Community College, the program ensures that participants gain not just theoretical knowledge but also real-world experience with Siemens products. This kind of hands-on learning fosters an environment where employees not only develop technical proficiency but also understand the broader scope of Siemens' operations.
